- Adam, Lender
I just bought a pair of shoes from Indosole. They are comfortable, low-profile shoes with soles made from recycled tires and best of all: they’re from an entrepreneur who has borrowed from and connected with Kiva’s community of 1.5 million supportive lenders. I also happen to be wearing a shirt from another Kiva borrower, SFC, and it’s probably my favorite. I’m a walking, talking billboard for small businesses, and I love it!
I don’t buy things from small businesses that have fundraised on Kiva just because they’ve fundraised on Kiva, I buy things from these businesses because I’ve had the opportunity to connect with the businesses on a more personal level through Kiva. Kiva to me is this connection: being involved with Kiva means that you immediately belong to a community of entrepreneurs, lenders, supporters, and fans, all of whom have a vested interest in the success of the most segment of the U.S. economy: small businesses.
As a lender and Kiva staff member, I get to connect with entrepreneurs in my backyard and all around the U.S., help them fund their business growth, and link them to the resources they need to be successful; it’s an honor to be able to do this! Kiva love to all the entrepreneurs working their butts off to reach their goals.
I can’t wait to find the next Indosole and SFC!
