"Feeling the love"

- Abby & Jeffrey, Dharma Farm

Hi! We're Jeffrey Knox and Abby Lydon, and we grow veggies and medicinal herbs in Washington, Maine.

We started farming because for us, the sacred acts of agriculture are direct moral and ethical actions. Growing food and medicine is the manifest of personal philosophies of how to be in this world. Farming is our right way of living. It is our dharma.

We used our Kiva loan to expand our seedling house and install a professional heater. The ease and efficiency gained in this operation has been incredible!

Here's our advice for Kiva borrowers: Go for it! Within this amazing community, there are so many people wanting and willing to help fund your project.  I was humbled by the support we received. Sometimes it really is as simple as asking for what you need.

Thank you, Kiva, for all you do!

Kathinka K. Nakstad

Kathinka moved to San Francisco to pursue her BBA degree, with a major in marketing. Being form Norway, she time to time misses the different seasons (especially winters with snow). One of her hobbies consists of finding a part of a city and explore it for a whole day. Checking out cool boutiques, and the best places to eat. Two of her favorite places to visit are Budapest and Vienna. No wonder her dream job would be to travel the world and write about the places she visits.
