"A smoother path towards success"

- Luis, Los Paleteros PR

Los Paleteros PR is a small business devoted to producing craft made ice pops. Founded by two brothers in Puerto Rico, Luis and Christian Bautista, Los Paleteros PR has been committed to using fresh local ingredients to produce their all natural ice pops. The business is currently 10 months old, but it has only been 4 months since fully funding a $5,000 loan through Kiva. Since that day, the business was able to invest in brand identity and manufacturing equipment to help increase sales and production, which was one of the core challenges of the business since the start due to the increasing demand since the first months of operation.

Los Paleteros were limited to producing only 160 ice pops per day but since then have been able to produce up to 160 ice pops per hour! Currently, we now provide our products to 7 local businesses for retail while attending multiple food festivals, birthdays, weddings, and corporate events. The loan through Kiva allowed us to significantly expand our business in such a short period of time. We believe Kiva loans can provide the boost many businesses need to place themselves in a competitive position and provide a smoother path towards success.

Kathinka moved to San Francisco to pursue her BBA degree, with a major in marketing. Being form Norway, she time to time misses the different seasons (especially winters with snow). One of her hobbies consists of finding a part of a city and explore it for a whole day. Checking out cool boutiques, and the best places to eat. Two of her favorite places to visit are Budapest and Vienna. No wonder her dream job would be to travel the world and write about the places she visits.
